Merry-Go-Round (The Girl and the Circle)
Carolina is a collector. While others sleep, she goes hunting, spinning and whirling to gather the most beautiful and important things in the world. She is a collector of dreams: the sea and the forests, mermaids and spiders, peacocks and an Eskimo cook. The show combines circus, dance, drawing and music, with three performers: a dancer, an illustrator and a musician.
Original idea and artistic direction are by Cláudia Nóvoa, with text by Sandro William Junqueira and original music performed by Sílvio Rosado. It is performed by Carolina Vasconcelos and Rachel Caiano, who also draws live, and produced by Hipótese Contínua - Associação Cultural.
Public performances are on Saturday, December 5, 2026, at 11:00 and 15:00 at Teatro Carlos Alberto. The 15:00 session is a relaxed performance with audio description. Sessions on December 3 and 4 are for schools. The show lasts 45 minutes and is for ages 3 and up. Tickets cost 12€, with discounts including for children and young people up to 25.
