The film "MEMÓRIAS DO CÁRCERE" is a Portuguese production from 2026, directed by Sérgio Graciano. It stars Albano Jerónimo, Maria João Bastos, Paulo Pires, and Afonso Pimentel. The movie runs for 167 minutes and is rated for ages 12 and up.
The narrative focuses on a notable episode from the life of Camilo Castelo Branco, specifically his imprisonment with Ana Plácido at the Cadeia da Relação do Porto. This event stemmed from a widely publicized adultery case in 19th-century Portuguese society. The film adapts Castelo Branco's book, which compiles extraordinary stories of individuals with difficult lives, including forgers, parricides, infanticides, and even a king, all heard and recounted by Camilo during his time in prison.
Tickets for the Plateia section are priced at 5.50€. The event takes place at TMP-Campo Alegre, located at Rua das Estrelas, 4150-762 Porto. The film will be shown from October 31 to November 11, 2026, with the next session scheduled for November 1, 2026, at 15:30.
