MECHITA is a dance creation by Sol Garcia, featuring five women. It uses body and sound as living archives, territories of memory, and places of resistance. The piece draws from fragments of a lost childhood, freedom, voice, and the feminine, weaving together the experiences and memories of the performers.
It explores the marks of abandonment, abuse, and what remains in the body after things that could not be said. On stage, movement, voice, and live music intertwine, making the act of creation a form of listening and memory. MECHITA seeks places where memory transforms, where the voice reappears, and where being a girl and being a woman meet. It is a poetic celebration of transformation, freedom, and the ephemeral beauty of living.
