Fredrik Rasten - Six Moving Guitars

Fredrik Rasten's 'Six Moving Guitars' is a performance that investigates the creation of a sounding choreography using six acoustic guitars. The guitars are tuned in just intonation chords, and the sonic characteristics of the microtonal harmony are emphasized by the movements of the performers and the acoustic setting.

This piece can also be seen as a study in how individuals, even without formal musical training, can collaborate in a musical context based on attentive listening and spatial awareness. It was composed for a group of three dancers and three musicians, aiming to blur the functional distinctions between them by focusing on the sound produced by moving or spatially positioned sound sources.

The performance takes place at the Museum on November 8, 2026, at 18:10. Access is granted upon purchasing a Serralves ticket, priced at €15 for residents and €19 for non-residents, available exclusively at the Museum Reception ticket office. Amigos de Serralves enjoy free admission.
