The exhibition "Foco - Ecos da Vida Moderna" presents the photographic work of Claudia Rocha, a photographer from Porto. Rocha, with a background in Architecture and Cinematography, specializes in interior and portrait photography. Her work for this exhibition captures the essence of the Complexo do Foco, including the Hotel Tivoli, Clube, and Cinema Estúdio Foco.
Rocha's photographs explore the architecture of Agostinho Ricca, João Serôdio, and José Carlos Magalhães Carneiro, highlighting materials like wood, concrete, and brick. She seeks to reveal the poetry of the place, capturing how architecture shows the passage of time through marks on materials, light, and nature.
The series reflects on the identity of the location and how its architecture endures despite abandonment, surviving through memories and fragments of stories. The exhibition is organized by the Fundação de Serralves and curated by António Choupina, Director of Architecture, with coordination by Diana Cruz. Admission is free.
