The Clube do Choro Porto project is dedicated to promoting choro music in Porto and the surrounding region. Founded in 2018, the project focuses on the traditional Brazilian "roda de choro," which combines music, gathering, and sharing.
For 2026, the group will perform in flexible formations, ranging from quartets to sextets. The musicians include Chico Bastos on flute/cavaquinho, Pedro Aragão on mandolin, Klênio Barros on trombone, Saulo Giovannini on vibraphone, Caio Constantino on 7-string guitar, and Felipe Bastos on percussion. The repertoire features original arrangements of works by choro masters like Pixinguinha, Jacob do Bandolim, and Radamés Gnattali, alongside contemporary interpretations.
The performances take place at Teatro Municipal Constantino Nery, with the first session on November 4, 2026, at 19:00, and the series running until December 2, 2026. Tickets are priced at €2.50, with discounts available for groups, individuals with reduced mobility, and university students.
