The play "Please, Love Me!" features Clió, a pop singer acclaimed by the public but overlooked by critics. She decides to document her own story as she prepares to mark ten years in her career. Clió is haunted by an enigmatic entity and believes she can only free herself from pain by offering something to the gods.
The performance, written and directed by Cleo Diára, stars Cleo Diára and Mário Coelho. It is a reflection on identity, gender, and power, inspired by Eurocentric and Yoruba mythologies and the experience of being a Black Cape Verdean woman in a patriarchal world.
The show is scheduled for November 21, 2026, at 9:30 PM at the Teatro Municipal Constantino Nery in Porto. Tickets are priced at €7.50, with discounts available for seniors, students, groups, and people with disabilities. The estimated duration is between 1 hour and 1 hour 30 minutes, and the age rating is 16+.
