The contemporary music ensemble ars ad hoc presents a series of performances at Casa de Serralves, interpreting works by Catherine Lamb, Clarence Barlow, Marc Sabat, Daryl Jamieson, Ben Johnston, and Tōru Takemitsu. These musical interventions create a dialogue with the ongoing Lee Ufan exhibition, exploring themes of sound, silence, and space.
The event takes place on November 1, 2026, with performances scheduled for 14:00, 15:30, and 17:00. Musicians Ricardo Carvalho (flute), Horácio Ferreira (clarinet), Diogo Coelho (violin), and Gonçalo Lélis (cello) will perform pieces such as Catherine Lamb's 'stones, shades (for mark so)' and Tōru Takemitsu's 'Air'.
Admission to this event is free. The program draws inspiration from Lee Ufan's ideas on the inter-relations between space, place, and time, considering sound as a field of vibrations that transforms the perception of the listener within the space.
