The Promenade Concerts were started by Coliseu in 2005 to introduce classical music to people of all ages. This concert presents "An Alpine Symphony" by Richard Strauss, performed by the ESMAE Symphony Orchestra.
Cesário Costa conducts the orchestra, with comments by Jorge Castro Ribeiro and multimedia design by Sara Botelho. The symphony describes an ascent in the Bavarian Alps, from night to dawn, through the climb, alpine landscapes, a storm, and sunset, concluding with the return to the valley at dusk.
Tickets are available for 1ª Plateia at €14.00, Tribuna at €12.00, and Camarotes 1ª at €72.00. The event takes place on November 29, 2026, at 11:00, in the Sala Principal of Coliseu Porto Ageas.
