The exhibition presents "Babel" (2010/2017), a sculpture/object by Jorge Pinheiro, a significant figure in Portuguese art from the second half of the 20th century. Pinheiro's work is known for its theoretical and intellectual approach, often drawing inspiration from mathematics and semiotics, particularly the Fibonacci sequence.
"Babel" was materialized for a monographic exhibition at the Serralves Museum in 2017, based on a plexiglass sketch from the early 1970s. It is an abstract sculpture reflecting a structuralist period of formal reflection on the function of a square or cube.
The exhibition is held at the Hall de Chegadas Aeroporto do Porto and runs from February 28, 2026, to February 28, 2027. Admission is free.
