Hampus Lindwall, an organist, improviser, and composer, will perform Stephen O'Malley's "Spheres Collapser" at Igreja Paroquial de Cedofeita on November 28, 2026, at 7:00 PM. This work for pipe organ was part of O'Malley's suite "Les Sphères (effondrez-les) Phases I-V," developed for a collaboration with Belgian-Swiss choreographer Cindy Van Acker.
The composition was first performed and recorded by O'Malley, Kali Malone, and Frederikke Hoffmeier at Église Saint-François in Lausanne, using an organ with elements from three centuries of construction. The title "Spheres Collapser" refers to the idea of collapsing celestial structures, which is explored through long-duration music with sustained sounds, deep resonant chords, and very slow transformations. The event offers free admission.
