The event "Habitar o Centro: devolver a cidade" is the final presentation of a transdisciplinary artistic research project. It focuses on participatory and relational art, promoting critical reflection on living in Porto's Historic Centre, a UNESCO World Heritage site facing gentrification and tourist pressure.
Developed by Ponte de Contacto, CRL, in partnership with Centro Social Paroquial de São Nicolau, the project uses visual arts and performance. Participants and artists create sculptural objects and performative actions based on local community memories and practices, activating public spaces through a sculptural-performative route.
The final session, held at Café Ceuta on November 6, 2026, at 16:00, is free to attend. It offers a chance to see the project's outcomes and engage with new ways of experiencing the city. The event also presents photographic and video records documenting the creative process.
