The ICBAS – Instituto de Ciências Biomédicas Abel Salazar, part of the University of Porto, marks International One Health Day on November 7th with a public event. The initiative takes place at the Abel Salazar Building and includes scientific sessions, debates, and workshops.
The program starts at 15:00 with "The Future of Science: One Health in Action," where young researchers present projects on topics like Aquaculture and Alzheimer's disease. At 17:00, a round table titled "Health in a Changing Climate" will discuss the effects of climate change on human, animal, and environmental health. Children and young people can participate in "Scientists for a Day: One Health Mission" workshops at 15:00 and 17:00, with themes like microorganisms and plastic pollution. Each workshop has 15 spots.
Participation is free, but requires prior registration and is subject to room capacity. The event invites families to discover, learn, and experiment together, with activities for both adults and children.
