Casting for a Miracle
The play "Casting para um milagre," directed by Tiago Ribeiro, is described as a dramaturgical matryoshka, presenting theatre within theatre within theatre. A highly famous director decides to stage Chekhov's "The Seagull" as his final show. The cast is already chosen, except for the actress to portray Nina.
To find Nina, the director organizes a casting session with a unique challenge: candidates must make him cry, as he has not shed tears in many years. The play explores whether anyone can achieve this goal and the consequences for those who attempt it.
Performances are scheduled for November 6, 2026, at 21:00, and November 7, 2026, at 16:00, at Teatro Helena Sá e Costa. Ticket prices range from 5€ to 10€, and the event is restricted to ages 18 and above.
