Café República is a cultural gathering that aims to recreate the atmosphere of coffeehouse discussions from the 1960s and 1970s. These sessions are inspired by places where friends would meet to talk about various topics, from politics and culture to daily life.
The event begins with a poetic tertúlia, featuring dialogue among participants and a guest. The second part invites the audience to read poems they have brought or excerpts from the guest's books, which are available at the venue.
The event takes place every two months, on the first Tuesday of odd-numbered months, starting at 9 PM. The first session is on November 3rd, followed by January 5th, both at Macaréu – Associação Cultural. Admission is free.
